Notes: 'Rock and Roll Punk' [E St. Records] - very good audience recording - early show, includes soundcheck (from soundboard) - Bruce opened for Bonnie Raitt - this is the first show in which the MC announced the band as Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band, as the name had been created only a few weeks earlier - this is the early show and it is the late show (currently not circulating) that prompted rock critic (and later Springsteen's manager), Jon Laundau, to pen the following quote: "I saw rock and roll future and its name is Bruce Springsteen" - "Born to Run" was debuted at the late show (not captured here)
