Notes: - Bill Evans Trio - Last recorded performance in Europe ! Bad Honningen, Germany August 15th, 1980 Bill Evans died precisely one month after this show. The sound is perfect. The sound engineer was named Justus Liebig. Bill Evans - Piano Marc Johnson - Bass Joe LaBarbera - Drums 1. Letter to Evan 2. Yet Ne'er Broken 3. Laurie 4. Bill's Hit Tune 5. Knit for Mary F. 6. Days of Wine and Roses - (Mancini) 7. Your Story 8. But Beautiful - (Burke/Van Heusen) 9. If You Could See Me Now - (Dameron) 10. Waltz for Debby TOTAL TIME: 63:21 source: SBD > Bootleg edited on WW 2022 > flac 8 sound quality is better than A++ but i've not rating for such wonderful documents. If you have any idea please tell me. Just like in much of his performances and especially during his last period around the recording of You Must Believe In Spring album, Bill Evans playing is incredibly emotional and touching. It's not a coincidence if the final track is Waltz for Debby (even if it's not a complete set), because "Waltz for Debby" (1961) and "You Must.." (1977) are, without any doubt, the best piano pieces of the last decades. He is the first jazz artist i discovered with Brad Mehldau and stays my favourite... Just a shame i was born many years after he died. Hope you will enjoy the gem and seed some more Bill Evans. it seems there's a more complete edition, but since yet, 3 tracks are missing: 11. Who Can I Turn To Now 12. Theme From M.A.S.H. 13. Five. Full time should be 76:39
