Been a fan of Jimmy for many many years.Jimmy was the lead guitarist with the Nighthawks up until the late 80's I believe possibly longer.
The Nighthawks were on regular rotation at Rosie's Cantina in Atlanta back in the 70's. We always pulled a table right up front.
One of the most incredible shows I witnessed there was The Nighthawks w/Eddie Hinton. I had no clue who Eddie was before that night. This was the night before Kevin saw them in Athens in the spring of 78. Gregg, Twiggs and a couple of others from the Dregs were hanging out that night.
I have kept in touch with Mark Wenner of the Nighthawks thru the years. They played 3 shows with Eddie Hinton in 78. Jacksonville State College in Alabama, then a club called My Brother's Place in Birmingham and then Rosie's. Jimmy has always played tribute to Eddie as well as others in his shows. Jimmy put out a tribute to Eddie Hinton album in 2002 called "We Got It".......
