Notes: *** INFO: Scotlands finest "landscape-rockers" MOGWAI returns to Stockholm and Sweden on their "Hardcore Will Never Die"-tour. Support for this night and for most part of the european tour is fellow scottishman RM Hubbert, who sits alone with his acoustic guitar and drags the listener right in to his passion for music. Before the concert I actually bought MOGWAI`S remixalbum "Kicking A..." from RM Hubbert himself, as he was selling his own soloalbums as well as MOGWAI- merchandise :-) Great fella! As RM Hubbert closes his set, no less than MOGWAI´S Stuart Braithwaite is joining us up on the balchony to get a glimpse of RM Hubbert. No one seems to notice Stuart, and myself thinking that he needs to get in the mood before the concert and not be disturbed. Also, at this point I´m checking my equipment, the levelbalance, position, P.A.-speakers and so on... So I´m too busy to with my stuff and Stuart is busy getting in the mood watching RM Hubbert finish off his set. There´s at least on more of my favorite bands that comes to my mind when it comes to this "Down-to-earth-approach" and not taking themselves too seriously, and that´s northern irish metalrockers "Therapy?". Many times have I bumped into one or two of "Therapy?"-members before or after the concert checking out their supportband. MOGWAI and Therapy? seems to share that "Down-To-Earth-approach", and does not hide in the dressingroom, but can have a chat with those who comes to checked them out each evening. Anyway...MOGWAI´S crew gets the change-over-procedure going, mostly checking the guitars, which annoys me - a drummer in heart ofcourse...he-he, just kidding ;-) After about 40 minutes of waiting, they take on the stage and Stuart shortly welcomes everyone and they kick in to the first song of the evening, and all in all we get 8 songs from the latest album "Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will..." The new songs goes down very well, and there´s maybe no secret in saying that they are a little bit more up-tempo than the last 3-4 albums more slower songs. One might dare to even say that there´s some "Krautrock" and "Kraftwerk"-influences on the new songs, but still modified in true MOGWAI-style ofcourse. Only one personal dissapointment this evening, but I can live with it...no "Mogwai Fear.." but hey we got the closely related "Helicon pt.1" instead, which starts off in a little shaky way, with Stuart looking at the other members like if there´s something sounding wrong, but nevertheless he continues and after a while they get the flow back. An fantastic evening with a amazing band, with a non-compromise-attitude delivering songs you never thought you would hear on this planet! Excellent, ´til next time remember "2 rights make 1 wrong" ;-) PS. I´m quite happy with this recording, turned out really great if I may say it myself. Sometimes there´s some people talking, but not too much. Enjoy this 48 KHZ / 24 Bitrecording! ****************************************************** P.S.2: I also Videorecorded the complete concert but PLEASE NOTE, I will NOT share it now as the worldtour has not finished yet. After the worldtour is over, I might share it, but I will respect the band because it´s not fair to spoil the liveexperience before everyone has seen the concerts! ~~~ How did I manage to record both AUDIO and VIDEO at the same time you might ask? I first carefully prepared the AUDIO-set up at a safe spot, checked all the settings, got a really great spot where I could pick up the P.A.! Then I quickly got into position for VIDEO-recording (High Definition HD 1280) and there you go! I don´t have a very far/distant zoom on this video-cam so there is not any extreme close-ups, but the visuals and stagescreen and the band look nevertheless really great on the VIDEO-recording! PLEASE, BE PATIENT WITH THE VIDEO-SOURCE FROM THIS CONCERT, DON´T ASK FOR IT NOW MY FRIENDS! WHEN THE TIME IS RIGHT IT WILL BE UP...;-)
