Notes: "Secret Heart Illustrated". Beautiful professionally recorded show that has aged extremely well. This is a killer set with a couple of rare Zep covers and smokin' versions of Sing Child Sing and Magic Man. I'm not sure what the original source on this was, but there are obviously edits made between a few songs, perhaps to remove commercials. This isn't disruptive, however, and this disc kicks serious ass.

It seems to be the original uploader's transcription of his vinyl LP. Sounds pretty good, I think! Here are the OP's lineage information and notes: ========== AMG REVIEW: When this rare bootleg LP surfaced in early 1978, it quickly gained a reputation as one of the most high-quality Heart bootlegs to hit the underground market. Boasting superb sound quality (by 1970s standards), Secret Heart Illustrated documents an August 3, 1976, gig at a club near Chicago called the Night Gallery. At that point, Heart hadn't started headlining large sports arenas, but its following was growing rapidly and there was every reason to believe that Dreamboat Annie was going to make the band huge (which, of course, it did). The Wilson sisters' excellent set ranges from three Dreamboat Annie gems ("Magic Man," "Crazy on You," and "White Lightning and Wine") and two songs that ended up on Magazine ("Devil Delight" and "Heartless") to three Led Zeppelin covers: "Rock & Roll," "The Rover," and "The Battle of Evermore. " Heart made no secret of its love of Zeppelin there was a lot of Robert Plant influence in Ann Wilson's vocals, and Jimmy Page had a major influence on Nancy Wilson's playing. Nonetheless, the very fresh-sounding Dreamboat Annie made it clear that Heart had a distinctive sound of its own. Unfortunately for Heart fans, Secret Heart Illustrated wasn't around for very long; copies went quickly, and by 1979 the bootleg became increasingly difficult to find. Notes: I have'nt heard too many versions of Zep songs done better than these. I figured Ann and Nancy were male impersonators and managed to end up as Plant and Page. Great stuff and perfect recording.

Notes: (45:32) This is very early stuff recorded when the band was on the verge of making it big. Rock & Roll (Led Zep cover) Heartless Battle Of Evermore (Led Zep Cover) White Lightning & Wine Crazy On You Devil Delight Magic Man (includes drum solo) The Rover - there are a some very small pops and hisses on this recording that came from the original analog source (vinyl album) - not from the digital transfer - the mix is excellent - all instruments and voices are very even and clear - although recorded in DAO, this recording has two (or possible three) edits - between tracks #5 and #6 (album change over) and between tracks #7 and #8 (while band is off stage prior to coming out for an encore) - the transition between tracks #3 and #4 is a little abrupt Not a long recording, but a really good show with really great sound. This is very early on in Heart's career. At one point, Ann Wilson announces that, "This next song is our new single. I think that if you haven't heard it yet, you will be hearing it soon - if everything goes as it should. This is called Magic Man."
