| Notes: | via glasnostrd19: " I think there was a version of this concert posted before this one on dime, but this one is from a pretty good sounding 1st generation reel from master cassette copy I have of this. I didn't see this show (I was at a George Benson show that night and fortunately had a friend who saw this one) so I'm not sure if this is all of it but I believe it is except one song cuts in for a tape flip and another is cut seconds before the end. 2008 was the first time I ever uploaded this, after recently putting it on disc and FLAC file. They do some Tom Scott songs, some Alphonso songs, a few by Steve Kahn and a couple by Cobham. A nice mix of tunes here played in a very good sounding theater and sounding very good. Billy has played the Berklee P.C. 2 times that I know of (the other being 78), the time before this in 76 with the George Duke group he had then was at Symphony Hall, I was told. (anybody out there have that one? I missed it) This was an inspired show, Mark Soskin was a very recent Berklee College graduate around this time. 1977 was a very good year for shows, too many to see nearly all the good ones. This is one worth hearing a few times, although the Follow your Heart is NOT the same song John McLaughlin and the Joe Farrell Quartet played on Farrell's record which came out in 1977 so don't get your hopes up on that... (too bad, that would be something special). these shows usually had a set break after "mondo". the end applause of that track is spliced (seamlessly) due to tape recorder shutoff at the end of the set, and I don't know for sure that there was a break in this show too, since I didn't see this show, but there probably was." | |||||
