| Notes: | Source info: Composite of two sources, phase & pitch corrected (by +5%). A raw low gen source was used as the main source. A cut before Catfish Blues was patched from a heavily eq'd 2nd gen source, the eq was reversed but since the 2nd gen tape was digital mono there is a change in the hiss (from stereo to mono) in the patched section. Some clicks not on the master were removed and drop-outs fixed (as well as possible) at 0.39 in Rock Me Baby, 2.24 in Hey Joe and 6.40 in Wild Thing. At least the first two drop-outs were not on the original master as they are in stereo which is why it was possible to improve them by patching one channel with the other. Ultimately this composite is a compromise for the time being, somewhere there must be a straight low gen transfer of the complete uncut mono master or perhaps the master itself will pop up one day. Source 1: Master (reel?) > ? > cdr > cdr > wav Raw low gen source. The MC's speech after Wild Thing is complete.
The cut before Catfish Blues takes place before Jimi mentions Muddy Waters, several seconds are missing.
Phase & pitch corrected (by +5%) Source 2: Master (reel?) > 2nd gen Heavily eq'd digital mono 2nd gen source. This source was used to patch the cut before Catfish Blues. The MC's speech after Wild Thing is missing. The cut before Catfish Blues takes place after Jimi mentions Muddy Waters. There's a short repeat section on the tape at this point so there's actually no audio lost. | |||||

| Notes: | This is one of the earliest live recordings of the Experience known to exist and predates the UK release of the first album by several months. The Flamingo club was a small jazz club in Wardour Street in Soho and it sounds like there really aren't that many people there. The setlist is interesting both for the unusually large amount of old blues covers it contains (probably due to the fact that the band didn't have that many songs of their own at this point) and also for rare live performances of "Can You See Me" and "Like A Rolling Stone", both of which would be dropped from the band's setlists before long. This is probably a second or third gen copy of the mono master, sound is not perfect but very listenable, especially when you consider how old this recording is. This is also a fascinating performance, a small London club gig done by the Experience very early in their career only a few months after Hendrix initially arrived in London. | |||||
