| Notes: | "Bosnian Rainbows" is a new band by "The Mars Volta" co-founder Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, currently touring in Europe. While the tickets for the shows still announce the "Omar Rodriguez-Lopez Group", Omar himself declared the name of the new band at the shows. The music sounds energetic and fresh, an appropriate classification of the music genre might be somewhere between indie, electronica and punk rock. The stage presence of singer Teri Gender Bender (also member of "Le Butcherettes") is spectacular (in my opinion she resembles Kate Bush), while the guys are jamming, she is dancing in and with the audience. Omar and his band mates seemed to have fun on stage. As always Deantoni Parks was amazing to watch, this time he was drumming left-handed during some songs, while he was handling a synthesizer with his right hand. The only let-down for me is the show is quite short, but that applies to all tour dates so far. The Luxor is a rather small venue, and it was not packed. So if you want to enjoy the band in an intimate atmosphere at a venue of this size, grab yourself a ticket soon. Recorded from near the soundboard, a little left of the center (6 m from stage). The Cologne crowd was great, not moshing, but lost to the music and rapt attention during the quiet parts. The sound at the venue was good (at least where I was standing), so this is reflected in the recording. Cover art may follow. Visit the Comatorium (http://forum.thecomatorium.com/forum/) for reviews, pictures and more from the show. Please do not convert the recording to mp3 or other lossy formats unless for personal use. And please do not sell. Enjoy! | |||||
