Leftover came out first, and played a loud rockin' set. At break, Retrograss was introduced and took the stage. The Slamon set had been loud, and any acoustic band was going to be lower in total volume. Retrograss played into acoustic mic's, which only compounded the issue. Whoever was runing the boards had the mic's up just as loud as they could go (as evidenced by the 'hum' of power running into the PA.) and still, the crowd wash was significant, even though we were standing half-way between the board and the satge. (Lot's of folks were there to see Salmon, and less than impressed by three aged gentlemen, sitting in front of them, playing funky Hartford style goodies with no beat to dance by). At track 7, a buzzing sound is faintly heard on the recording. This was the FIRE ALARM going off. At this point, I was flat out angry. I had mostly come to see Retrograss and I was not able to enjoy the show, due to the enviorment. Fortunatly, this recording exists. I hope you enjoy it too. Erich Hennig.
