ABOUT THE RECORDINGS: The so-called, "Work tape," described by Frank Kornelussen in the sleeve notes of Time Of No Reply as, "A mayhem of completed songs, instrumental bits and song fragments," was recorded on Nick's home tape recorder over several months from mid to late 1969 while Nick was ensconced in his Hampstead bedsit writing material for Bryter Layter. The works in progress material presented here features unique Drake compositions that were ultimately left unused. They are, in effect, the last remaining samples of Nick's original music left for us to hear...
