Bob Brozman is a guitarist like no other: an established and prolific recording artist, performer, producer, and author, Bob is a non-stop world traveler and tireless researcher in ethnomusicology. His work with musicians from around the world in the past several years has marked him as not only a virtuoso musician and slide guitarist, but also as a pioneer in finding a common thread among global musical cultures. Bob Brozman's web site Debashish Bhattacharya started learning Indian music from his parents, before he learned the alphabet. In his childhood he mastered many Indian classical instrumental styles as well as vocal music from different musical teachers in Calcutta. He became a disciple and student of Brij Bhushan Khabra, the father of Indian classical guitar, and trained under Ajoy Chakraborty, the eminent Indian vocalist. He has also studied with Ustad Ali Akbar Khan. Debashish Bhattacharya's web site Martin Simpson is one of the world's premiere acoustic guitarists, and a powerful songwriter with a rich, charactered voice. His playing, which in part defined the English steel string acoustic guitar sound, is idiosyncratic, instantly recognizable, and revered among guitar fans. His body of work is very diverse, encompassing all types of traditional and acoustic music, and he has toured with everyone from June Tabor to Steve Miller. Martin Simpson's web site A promising tabla player, Subhashish Bhattacharya, was trained by the eminent tabla artists like Pandit Shyamal Bose, Pandit Anindo Chatterjee, Samir Chatterjee and Prabir Bhattacharya and achieved mastery over the rythmic instrument in his early days. His skill as well as sense of aesthetics, blended with improvising calibre has made Subhashish a prominent tabla player of his generation. | |||||
