This will not make the Top 10 of all-time Petty recordings,
and I'm pretty sure it won't rank in the Bottom 10, either.
In sum, a decent recording and document of a Petty show
in Dallas. I was waiting to see if there was a better recording
to be posted, but since one hasn't surfaced here yet, I thought
I'd share this in the meantime. Although not unexpected, Stevie
Winwood guest appearance was a highlight this night. Petty
samples provided in comment section.
The last gasp for Mike's mics, as one side pretty much completely cut out, but after rebalancing and adding just a bit of presence in ACL, it's not a bad recording. Probably closer to mono than stereo, but it rocks all the same. Mike wants to thank his Core Sound mics for all the great times over the years. They were real warriors. Enjoy. On with the show ...
