This must have been the fifth or sixth time I've watched Focus which is always a pleasure. It is always important to observe the systematic repetition of the setlist, which is a problem for any band in the 50s, but, in my opinion, with a little good will, beautiful songs like Janis, Love Remembering or even Focus II, among others, could be on the set, even replacing some excessively long solos, but this is my opinion, which nobody asked for. I even believe that this justifies a low attendance of the public, which in the case of this show, was unable to fill up even Bush Hall, a beautiful old event venue with capacity for just a few hundred people. Even so, the band was fantastic. Van Leer's voice is very good - of course not in the seventies standard - but much better than the last few times I've seen him. And Van Der Linden, on his way to turning 80, remains formidable on sticks. Some photographs are included in the torrent. A simple tribute to the late bassist Bert Ruiter was provided by the band in the song "For Bert". The acoustic of the house is excellent, and the audience is very well behaved, with absolute silence in the low parts of the show, which is the detail that most reminded me that I was watching a show outside my country. I hope it pleases the fans of the band. | |||||
