The Lisner Auditorium stage resembled a faded ballroom Monday night. Tattered drapes hung in disarray, and so subdued was the lighting that Toronto's Cowboy Junkies spent most of the evening cloaked in shadows. Lest anyone miss the point, Margo Timmins, the band's willowy singer, opened with the " 'Cause Cheap Is How I Feel," setting a languid tone that lasted nearly the entire concert.
