Notes: Here's a really nice Brice Springsteen DVD that I picked up fairly recently from TapeCity. It was generously shared there by didier572000...thanks very much! A confession: I have never been a Bruce Springsteen fan, but of course I know most of the songs featured in this show. How can a person NOT know these songs? Anyway, I decided to download it just in case any friends "needed" a good Springsteen DVD at some point in the future. Well, the funny thing is this: I really enjoyed this show/DVD. Not enough to make me a Bruce fan, mind you, but I know a good thing when I see one...and this is a good one. Berlin is a color, pro-shot show. It has a small handful of very minor flaws, but overall the video quality is excellent and the audio quality (soundboard stereo) is very good. The only problem I noticed is that the audio occasionally becomes thin and/or muffled (and mono-sounding) during portions of some songs. Not a deal breaker by any means, but I figure it's worth pointing out. Paris is a black-and-white show. Although it's a pro-shot, the picture is a little blurry or washed-out at times. Not bad, but certainly not great. Thankfully, the sound quality is very good on the Paris show. I did not make any changes to the VIDEO_TS folder that I downloaded, so if any of you have this show and would like to help seed for others, I encourage you to do so. Artwork from the original torrent is also provided. The only change I made to the original torrent was to replace the original info file (which had some errors) with this updated info file. Enjoy the show! It is north of the park containing the Weisser See. It is also popular for inline skating and skateboarding. During the time Radrennbahn Weissensee was part of East Berlin, it was also used as a concert venue. Acts such as James Brown and ZZ Top played there, in an attempt to satisfy the musical desires of East German youth. The most known concert held there, and the biggest concert in East German history, was the July 19, 1988 performance of Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band on their Tunnel of Love Express." And some more background on this historical show: (Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tunnel_of_Love_Express_Tour) "Most unusual of the European shows was one in East Berlin on July 19, 1988, some 16 months before the Berlin Wall came down. Some 160,000 people were in attendance at the Radrennbahn Weißensee, practically one percent of the German Democratic Republic's entire population. Much of the concert was broadcast live on both state television and radio, with Springsteen being extolled by the state as a working-class American who "attack[s] social misery and injustice in his native country." Before playing Bob Dylan's "Chimes of Freedom", Springsteen stated in phoenetically recited German, "I want to tell you, I'm not here for or against any certain government, but to play rock ’n’ roll for you East Berliners ... in the hope that one day, all barriers will be torn down." GDR officials took advantage of a tape delay to delete Springsteen's words." And lastly, regarding East Berlin: (Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/East_Berlin) "On 3 October 1990, West and East Germany were reunited, thus formally ending the existence of East Berlin." Wow, it's hard to believe it's been nearly two decades since they reunited! As I mentioned above, I'm not a Springsteen fan but I thought this show was really entertaining. My favorite songs were: Paradise By The "C", I'm A Coward, and Bobby Jean. If you're so inclined, wny not let me know what YOUR favorite songs in this show are by posting a comment on the board? And lastly, please consider posting a thank you to didier572000 for sharing this fine show with all of us. Uploaded on DIME by TheCommish July 2009

Notes: 'Don't Shut Me Down' - this is the soundtrack to the television special with an inferior audience tape supplementing the cuts in the TV portion - the broadcast portion is incomplete containing all of the second set but only "Badlands," "Out in the Street," "Boom Boom," "The Promised Land" and "Born in the USA" from the first set - first full band "Born to Run" of the tour and the tour debut of both "The Promised Land" and "Out in the Street" - probably MP3 sourced - clicks between tracks
