Comment
Here is a review by Hal Broome:
Well, okay, it wasn't millions of bodies naked in dirt, but that's alright,
there was a sense of what must have made the original event of Woodstock
special . . . the Crosby/Nash/Lesh set was definitely the highlight of the
evening for me, as I love Crosby's first solo album. The sound was there,
the people were there, and Jeff Pevar's guitar capped it off.
Kantner's set had its highlight with Crosby singing on "Have you
Seen the Stars Tonight" (he helped Paul write that). Mangano graced
us with some strong female vocals (I've seen her with Paul a couple of
times; once at the I-Beam and another time at Great American Music Hall).
She must be one of the many female vocalists on the upcoming Starship album
that is currently being recorded in Florida. Disappointing that Jorma
and Paul sort of avoided each other on stage; as it was, the Hot Tuna
set smoked, but of course that goes without saying.
Wavy Gravy was in good form, and acknowledged another Jorma guitar camp
at Camp Winnarainbow this summer.
All in all, a pleasant, comfortable auditorium, a tranquil crowd, and
some special music. Too bad about the $8 parking charge 8'/.

| Notes: | sbd (mono feed) > 48k dats > midiman delta dio 2496 > cooledit2000 > wav; dat2 (from Hot Tuna onward) was inverted since overlap between dats was inverted; This source started with digi-static in the the middle of Harvey Mandel song and had 5 minutes of continual digi-static in Country Joe's Save the Whales; These defects seem to be on all circulating dats that were come across; Patch Source 1 is from Aud portion of Hal Brooome's shn set used for d1t11 and d1t12; levels were lowered in cooledit2000 to match sbd levels; Patch Source 2: 48k daud > midiman delta dio 2496 > cooledit2000 > wav used for d1t19; this version was used because it was slightly better sound than the Aud portion of Hal Brooome's shn set but it did not have tracks before Country Joe; all 48k to 44k conversions were done at highest quality setting in cooledit2000; levels are a little low at times and a few equipment buzzes and pops are how it was on dat; excellent sound [A] | |||||
