Notes: “Yes, We’re Talkin To You” Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band Roxy Theater- Hollywood, CA October 19, 1975 Original Master Audience Recording Cassette>CDR>Magix>Roxio>flac This is the final Roxy show in the original master series provided by Mr Anonymous. This one took place October 19th and it was the ONLY show of the night. Previous dates had an early and late show. Born To Run and Goin Back cuts out, but the show as a whole is worth listening to. This is a rare recording, not in wide circulation and coming from the master tape. I did some light EQ work along with repairing space gaps and the usual beginning and end fades. New artwork was also created. This was 1975 before Bruce Springsteen broke into the larger arena and stadium shows. This is a young Bruce Springsteen, wild and innocent performing at a small, intimate venue! “Are You Talkin” To Me?” This seems to be the show where Bruce first uttered those famous words. Of course it goes without saying as fanatical fans that we are, cheering for more and never wanting Bruce to leave the stage we think to ourselves and perhaps say aloud: “Yes, We’re Talkin’ To You, Bruce.” Comments from BruceBase: Final show of the 4-night (6-show) residency at the club. This final night was only a single show and it circulates as an audience recording of reasonable quality, if not somewhat marred by audio cuts in “Born To Run”, “Kitty’s Back” and “Goin’ Back”. A BRUCEBASE reader who attended comments: "The Oct 19th show was clearly the high point of Bruce's four night stand. It features far and away the best E Street Shuffle I've ever experienced. He got the crowd singing along and just played it from there. It's right up there with some of the moments during the (early 1975) Westbury show”. During Spirit in the night Bruce steps out into the audience. The taper or someone close shouts "Over here" to Bruce several times, where Bruce's reply is "You're on the wrong side" - Highlight of this show - Fanatic Records in association with Mr Anonymous is proud to share this recording with Bruce Springsteen fans worldwide! Enjoy and enjoy again and again! Notes: "On The Mean Streets Of Hollywood" - converts to 2 audio discs 2016 Transfer: CB Master Tapes > Nakamichi DR-01 (azimuth adjusted) > Audacity > Peak Pro XT (pitch adjusted / subtle tweak / edit / index) > xACT 2.35 > FLAC JEMS is pleased to continue a long partnership with CB aka Mr. Anonymous to present fresh transfers of one of Bruce's legendary multi-night stands directly from CB's master tapes. In the annals of Bruce Springsteen tour lore this series of shows stands out as one of the most important to his legend. We wrap our series with the final show on the 19th. Two previous releases circulate as "October 19, 1975: Last Night At The Roxy" (Racing In The Street) and "Yes, We're Talkin' To You" (Fanatic). The Fanatic release is directly from the master tapes via "cassette > CDR". As with the the previous night the transfer was done extremely well but it was not azimuth or pitch adjusted. This release is azimuth and pitch adjusted, which we believe takes the show up a notch. The mastering on the previous releases tend to lean toward a slight boost in the high end frequencies adding a touch of background noise. We have chosen to use a more subtle mastering as to not add unnecessary background noise, we feel this gives the shows a more natural sound. The series of shows at the Roxy Theatre were a triumph and important point in Bruce's career. This is the crowning jewel of the four night stand, CB says it has by far and away the best E Street Shuffle he's ever experienced and the night was about fun for both the band and the audience. CB's taping location was similar to the late shows on both the 17th and 18th at a front table very near Bruce. Our title, "On The Mean Streets Of Hollywood" pays tribute to the legend that Robert DeNiro and Martin Scorcese attended this show lifting the line Travis Bickle famously delivers in 'Taxi Driver', "you talkin' to me?" from Bruce. We have no idea how accurate this is, these things tend to grow over the years but either way, true or not, we like the title. Once again, we owe a big debt of gratitude to CB aka Mr. Anonymous for not only trusting us with his master tapes but having the foresight to come armed with a deck in the first place. mjk5510 in partnership with CB & JEMS
