From Bluefish's "Rainbow Room":
The band puts on a great performance. Has there ever been a group as underrated/unknown as these guys?? Top of the line playing by everyone. As far as the location, I have serious doubt that this show is actually from Germany. At one spot during the show Steve talks to the audience and then apologizes because his Dutch is so bad. Where ever the location may be, it is one great recording that any Morse fan would enjoy.

| Notes: | Guitarist Steve Morse has had a wide and varied career. His first band was ?The Dixie Dregs?, later known as simply ?The Dregs?. They won Grammy nominations and were a powerful musical quintet. In the early 80?s ?The Steve Morse Band? was formed, the quintet having merged into a trio, and much to the delight of six-string fans, Steve had more room for blistering guitar work. Steve's talent as a composer was conspicuous in the Dixie Dregs, but his prowess as a guitarist came to the fore with the Steve Morse Band. Between gigs for the SMB, Steve has managed to work with almost everyone, from Kansas to Deep Purple, as well as stints with Lynard Skynard, The Allman Brothers, and a brief hiatus as a commercial pilot! Official notes on this show state: ?The band puts on a great performance. Has there ever been a group as underrated/unknown as these guys?? Top of the line playing by everyone. As far as the location, I have serious doubt that this show is actually from Germany. At one spot during the show Steve talks to the audience and then apologizes because his Dutch is so bad. Wherever the location may be, it is one great recording that any Morse fan would enjoy?. (I have heard that the possible show date is 03/17/91). Steve once said ?I'd like to have the versatility of Phil Collins, the integrity of Metheny, Holdsworth or McLaughlin, the chops of DiMeola, Malmsteen and Van Halen, and the musical finesse of Segovia.? Why don?t we tell him he?s made it? This is a great sounding soundboard show. If you're going to get one Steve Morse show, this is the one to get! Some solo and Dixie Dregs selections. Dave LaRue (Bass), Van Romaine (Drums). Thanks for a ripper Ed! | |||||
