The mixed blessings begin: Jerry seems too high to remember the words to 'Scarlet', plays a divine jam, then can't seem to grasp the 'Fire' & 'Estimated' riffs. By 'Eyes', all is forgiven, and we never look back as we leave the ground :-) |

Phil low in mix, ometimes inaudible. But this is the kind of show worth seeking: Jerry seems to be in a 1973 mood, and so we get a mostly gentle & hypnotic show, where even the Drums & Space sequences are definite keepers! |

A lot of good things here -- I get the sense they aren't trying to do anything cute (like 9-21's opener); instead, they know what they do well & do it. Throwing Stones works well in a pre-drum slot, and the PITB reprise keeps popping up. Truckin has a lyric variation. Most importantly, the band ROCKS & makes sure Syracuse know it. A great late '82 show :-) |
