GRATEFUL DEAD
Saturday, July 28, 1973
Grand Prix Racecourse - Watkins Glen, NY
Audience Recording

AudMR > Reel(3 3/4ips) > DVD(WAV 24/96) > FLAC

Source Tape:
Reel dubbed in 1979 by Will Boswell from Jerry Garcia's personal collection.
Original recording made by the sound crew at the soundboard.  It is assumed
that the 1979 dub came direct off of the master.

Analog > Digital by Matt Smith - June, 2009:
Akai GX636 > Apogee Mini Me(24/96)/Apogee Mini DAC(monitoring/mastering) >
Lynx One soundcard > Wavelab 5.0 > DVD

WAV > FLAC transfer by Noah Weiner - July, 2009:
24/96 WAV track breaks and crossfades performed in Soundforge 8.0 >
FLAC(level 8)

Caveat: While you may find this to be one of the very best sounding 1973
audience recordings you have encountered, please note the persistence of wind
noise here and there throughout the show. Ambient most of the time, mildly
distracting only occasionally, and intrusive only a handful of times, the
wind element in no way overshadows the brilliance of the recording, but
bears mentioning, none-the-less.
