Notes:
* - with Peter Gunn & Every Breath You Take (Police) jam
** - one verse
Seeded to etree on 11/21/09
- side note... I decided to take a shot at the balcony as opposed to setting up down front (the UM crowds can be a little rowdy) or back by the sbd where the venue would direct you (not the best location for sound). So I slipped past the "balcony closed" barrier, and headed up to an area I hadn't been to in almost 13 years, to find just a handful of people sitting on the benches who had access. This balcony is typically reserved for VIPs only from what I learned.
Many have taped here before, but I personally haden't since moe. 3/28/97 where redrain (Dr. Stan) and myself coined the phrase "The Tapers Cove", as this was a great spot where we had a nice little setup closed off DFC in this low key balcony area. Well it was just as I remembered it. Perfect birds eye view of the band completely DFC above the noisy crowd below with the perfect vantage point for pointing mics. I thought the sound was great, with very little crowd noise as we had just dozen or so people for the 1st set, and it maybe doubled for the 2nd set.
So my return to the Tapers Cove went great, and I hope to setup shop there again at Water Street in the future, security permitting.
