Remaster Notes:
I was pretty happy with how the tapes came out, but wanted to see if I could clean things up a bit on the low end and bring out more of the mid and high tones. I analyzed the waveform using the FFT Meter and Spectrum Meters, identified the low frequency spike, and used the Parametric Equalizer to even things out. I then used the RMS Loudness Normalizer and set a desired loudness of -10dB, incorporating a Peak Limiter with a max peak level of 0dB. Fades were then added at the beginning and end of sets, file then converted to 16bit/44.1 with Apogee UV22HR Dither, CDWave used for tracking and encoded to FLAC using Traders Little Helper. All editing was done in 24bit/48Hz. The end result in my opinion is a much more balanced and dynamic recording that still has plenty of punch without burying the mid and high tones under a blanket of muffled bass. Feedback is welcome and appreciated. Thanks!
