this source on the archive comes in at 800 meg 136 min, while the fob(29477) is 1.2 gig, and 126 minutes, anyone?

That's interesting. Looks like the SBD is SHN and the AUD is FLAC. Oddly, the SHN compressed better than the FLAC...cm

also the overall levels of the recordings might be different. recordings with low levels end up compressing to smaller size (probably cuz they are already a little compressed to begin with if they aren't using up the 16 bit dynamic range). this isn't bs - i've taken the same file, boosted the levels and then decreased the levels, and seen the effect on lossless file size.

Also, in general, the background audience noise and perhaps echo are less correlated than the music, thus resulting in a lower degree of compression.

The reason that this source is 10 minutes longer than the audience is this is a digital recording that has no tape pauses. The audience is from a cassette and has pauses between all of the songs that don't segue.
