the original SHN's weren't broken. they were all cut on sector boundaries. there were non-canonical headers and extra RIFF chunks which are not errors in the least and make absolutely NO difference in the final sound quality. If you have the original source for this show, the only real difference is that this source has a nicer info file, the shn's are now seekable, and also has NFA>GDTRFB split up which you can do yourself, though i can't imagine i EVER will listen to the NFA>GDTRFB in a discontinuous manner.

umm....first off please imthemarmar, whoever you are, choose another name....this is the name I post to the lists with and I'd like it if others don't get us confused....on to the SHN's. They sound ok, not sure if I totally agree with "retracking" a set of SHN's that are out. I believe that should be left to the person burning them as to how they want it tracked...retracking just adds confusion to an already messy situation. I give this show 8 out of 10. (and if you don't believe that I use imthemarmar for my name, e-mail me at that addy....I'll reply to it ;-)

when i got this set, it was a mess. the text file was just the setlist with no info. the md5's didn't match the file names, and the filenames and the md5 weren't in etree convention. if the show was left as is was there were three songs stuck together in a 20 minute track. as for the headers and riff chunks, i didnt say they were errors, i said they were properties, and they aren't desirable properties so i fixed them.

Re-tracking, fixing, and re-seeding this seems perfectly justified. Thanks, Randy!

since this is listed as a pcm-based recording, it would be a good idea for somebody that has a copy to burn it with pre-emphasis enabled in their burning program and see (and report back) whether it sounds better. Almost all pcm decks apply pre-emphasis and a pure digital transfer would preserve that setting. WAV files lack the ability to recognize pre-emphasis so de-emphasis must triggered manually when burning from wav/shn.

There is a cut (or skip) in Row Jimmy D2T2 at 5:34 in addition to the aforementioned cut (or skip) in GDTRFB D2T10 at 2:20.
