Fare Thee Well, Soldier Field, Chicago, Illinois, 2015-07-03 Schoeps-Sonosax (96/24)

This is a 96/24 redo of the 16/44 version here: http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=580821

Source: Oshman's Schoeps CMC 5--U, MK4 Cardioids supported by an authentic, Peter Oshman-provided Schoeps T-Bar > SONOSAX SX-M2 > Zoom H6 (WAV 96/24) -> Audacity -> xACT.

Tapers Section, Approximately 40 yards From Stage, 9' High, against the rail, behind the soundboard.

Notes: This was my first digital recording, my first recording using pre-amped mics, my first bt.etree posting, and my first recording of any kind since 1992 - 23 years off.  Learning curve, no clipping, battery life, card testing. Fear of clipping probably resulted in a slightly quieter tape than would be perfect.  I'd gone to, but not taped the Santa Clara shows.

It was a lovely day, not hot at all, surrounded by many old friends.  We kept in touch over Facebook during the shows; that was new.  Sound was excellent throughout.  The number of bracelets was amusing. There were lots of handsome people.  That annoying guy who "used to be a taper" got into the tapers section without a taper ticket and shouted conversationally during the songs.  There was lots of great fashion, and costumes.  And while the music wasn't always perfect (I don't think it's supposed to be), all five of the FTW the shows were.
