OK in terms of "Charlie" here is my take on it.  I don't know yet whether Warren or Derek wrote that song.  But to me and me only, here's how I hear that song.

You may know that "Jessica" was written by Dickey while watching his baby daughter, Jessica, playing.  I love that song and think it is a beautiful idea.  But to me, this instrumental sounds like what Jessica would sound like if Derek Trucks had written it (given the VERY different styles of playing and writing that Derek and Dickey have).  So I think this instrumental makes me think that Derek wrote it while looking at his new baby boy, and this is what came out.  Definitely very different than Jessica, but for me personally I hear the same kinds of themes and structure, although "Derek-ified" in this new tune!
