Notes (from taper);
This was the day that Jerry Garcia died. It was a very hard show for me
to go to and record. Once I got to Jones beach that night the
tapers were treated differently than any other show I can remember there.
It did not matter where the seat you bought was. We were all allowed to
set up in the handicap section right in front of the sound board. Perfect
for taping. There was no rain and not much wind this night. Also I
remember that Eric Buxton a long time Frank Zappa fan was handing out
photos that night to all the tapers as we entered the taping section of
the members of the Grateful Dead. Then before starting Dickie Betts
acknowledged Jerry's death and dedicated the music played that night to
him. Enjoy this great historic show.
