by me from this, my only Weather Report
master recording, and one of the very best
in glasnostrd19's Jazz Masters series...
Masters of jazz from master audience recordings.
This is one of the nicest sounding Weather Report auds out there, one of
my 1st 25 uploads lost (sort of, only, thank goodness, after all the work
that went into these), when my 2001 computer died and left my whole
upload burden on Bertha III. This is one of my best auds of anyone, and an
automatic choice for my 1st load of 25 shows to share on dime. It's about
6 months behind schedule, and 2 other Weather Report Boston shows are among the
swelling belly of Bertha's hard drive. This one is the most recent, all are
very nice shows and good recordings, and they're all with Jaco Pastorious.
The other 2 are 1st gen. This is direct from the master via a CD extraction.
This one is definitely the best sound quality of the 3 but all are very
enjoyable sounding recordings. Only one very brief cut for tape flip 45
min. into the show, barely even noticable. Sorry it's taken so long to
deliver the weather report, but this posting means the waiting is finally
over! Nobody is any more relieved about that than me. If you like W.R.
there were 2 very nice uploads of note on dime in recent months (by other
uploaders)- a very nice aud from Seattle 76, and FM from Berkeley, Ca. 75.
This one is fairly comparable quality to that Seattle 76 one. And of course
the Boston 1981 beauty just shared by lestat.
Sorry, I have no set list at all for this one (maybe Doinker or a friend
of his can resolve that- I do have setlists for the other 2 but I don't have
the setlist info. provided in the 1st posting of this)
I think the only title I could recognize in this show is Birdland,
no artwork (get used to that, I have no working printer and don't know how to
do artwork), if someone wants to add some that's fine.
Thanks much to Doinker for uploading this show while I was wrestling with
port and firewall cybernightmares. now that those rotten (0% seeding problems)
days seem to be behind me, I can keep this seeded which is why I'm uploading
this now, having said in comment on 81 post by lestat that this is available
too, I discovered it had fallen off the tracker, and this one should remain
available too. When you hear the sample provided this time you'll know why I feel
that way. Maybe not quite as good sound as the 81 post, but it's close to that,
and both this and the 81 are well worth the DL. This one's in Bertha III so it
won't take you long to get it. She's been cooperating just fine with the uploading
Do not sell this recording.
