Recorded during the "In Absentia" warm-up tour.
When I first uploaded this show, I used a version which used an analog transfer to my computer, which I then treated with EQ (this version was also the version I used to trade at the time). I'm no sound expert, and what sounds good to my ears will not necessarily sound good to yours - so here's a direct digital transfer straight from the master (which I thought had been lost). Therefore, this version should now be considered the definitive version of my source. There is also one other source in circulation that I know of.
Recorded from the center back of the hall, mic at waist level. Sounds nice, considering I knew little about mic placement at the time.
The first minute of "The Creator Has A Mastertape" was recorded very hot before I made adjustments; I've tried to even the levels to make it fit. Also, There's about 20 seconds of "Hatesong" missing during the end guitar solo due to a MD switch. I've done a fade in/out on that section. Also tightened up some rough spots between encores - notably my drunken friends making some on-mic commentary. Soundwise, I left the EQ alone as noted above; only performed a bit of hard limiting in CoolEdit due to low levels.
One other interesting note - I was asked to contact PT's management after I recorded this show. I assumed I was in trouble, but it turned out that the band wanted a copy as they were planning to release this show on DVD and that they wanted my recording to possibly mix in or use as a reference. Due to problems with the sound, the DVD was not to be. In return, I was sent a promo copy of "In Absentia" - very cool as it was not to be released for several months.
