Comments:  *Dedicated to the memory of Elizabeth Cotton.

The lineage as given to me has this as an audience recording though it may be a SBD as there is virtually no close up audience noise and according to thejerrysite.com, the SBD circulates.  There is no cut in Drifting With The Tide on this recording.

Thanks to H.Angus for the CDR seeds.
DAE(EAC 0.9 beta 4, offset corrected, high/secure) > + 2 dB gain applied to entire show (soundforge 5)  > tracking (cdwav) > boundary check (shntool) > SHN (shorten 3.4) > FTP via C.Ladner/candyman FTP.

I attended these shows, and from what I remember, there were no mic stands. This recording must be a SBD as the recording is clearly not stealth; additionally, there is nice stereo separation.

right you are. man am i glad to be wrong - its not an aud, it is a sbd! i hedged cuz it could've been a nice FOB but if you say there were no mics, than its a sbd. plus you can hear the guys talking between songs and there's no close up crowd. also the show came to me by way of S.Aserkoff, not H.Angus as i had listed... doh!

Bill Graham was personally stalking the aisles busting stealth tapers the one show I caught of this run.

Until things are sure I generally like to keep this in the comments and retain the info file as is. But if you are pretty sure, I can change the info file and note the change.

listen to track 3 @ 4:25 for instance, there is considerable "room atmosphere" to the crowd sound; it simply cannot be a ("pure") board. But what is it ? An audience tape made with by an employee ? An outstanding first-row stealth job ? Possible, but very unlikely given the venue circumstances, the excellent stereo separation and the fact that this sounds like a digital master (from 1987!). It really is hard to tell, but I bet this is a sbd/aud matrix of some sorts, made by Healy perhaps. And if I lose ... ?

this is a sbd - you can hear the band members talking about coming in a verse too early and other comments between songs. also the crowd noise is waaaaaaay too low relative to all other circulating auds from this run. it may be a matrix or probably just a pure sbd with ambient noise picked up by instrument mics and lack of electric amplification to mask the crowd noise.
