I thought that the edirol ua-1d (like all edirol products) unnecessarily resamples, making this a lossy transfer as well. ???

That is correct, Edirols are known to be INACCURATE for digi to digi transfers. It is unfortunate, tehy are great pieces of gear! I have a UA-5. Perhaps Brian could retransfer his seed one day.
