I know this may not matter to anyone, but the proper spelling of the song is "Better Git It In Your Soul", according to the Mingus album "Ah Um". Which of course everyone shouldn't be without. Other than that it is a great recording.

actually Mingus used the title "Better Get Hit In Your Soul", as well as a number of other spellings on his releases for this tune. Specifically on the "Live at Montreax" & "Passions of Man" releases it was HIT not IT ... But by far the most commonly used title for this tune is actually "Better Get Hit in Yo' Soul" (according to allmusic.com)
