OldNeumanntapr Notes:
This was the last time that I have been to Cal Expo to see the Dead, or any other band for that matter. I patched my Sony WM-D6C out of my friend John Lech's Aiwa DAT and ended up buying his Nakamichi CM 300 microphones later in 1990 when he sold them to buy smaller stealth mics. Cal Expo was a nice smaller outdoor amphitheater and the first time I saw the Dead there was in May of 1986, the weekend that the Chernobyl radiation cloud passed over northern California. (Funny the things that you remember.) the 1986 Cal Expo shows were my very first attempt at recording the Dead and those tapes were a dismal failure, between the rain, the acid, and the mismatched hand-help microphones and boom box that I was trying to record with. Harkening back to a Monty Python quote from 'The Holy Grail',..."I Got Better!"
