* = tape flip
A high-energy jam-fest for an excitable New York City crowd, the second night of a 3-night run. A couple of people in audience are sometimes annoying, but the music is too good to let that bother you.
This appears to be a C(1), with two layers of hiss. The sound was a little dull as well. DDI Codec and some gentle EQ sorted that out. The two tape flips are, unfortunately, in bad places. You'll notice them, but the cross fades don't bust the groove too badly. The two medleys are long and wandering. The tracking is just guidance, there's more hiding in there: Art asks, "Can y'all guess what we're doing? Does anyone in the band know what we're doing?"
There was no obvious encore for the early show, and no real break before the encore of the late show, other than a "Thank you, goodnight" before the last three songs The band closes with "We've got to get out of here," as it was 12:30 am and I guess they had to wrap it up.
Leo Nocentelli - guitar, vocals
Russell Batiste - drums, vocals (2nd show with the band?)
Art Neville - keys, vocals
Charles Neville - saxophone
George Porter Jr. - bass
Enjoy!
