As of January 2025, all circulating, non-commercial versions of this show seem to come from three different recordings made from the KSAN simulcast (or from a BBC / Westwood 1 broadcast that is described here:  https://www.discogs.com/release/11757436-The-Allman-Brothers-Band-Stereo-Pop-Special-113 and which is easily identified by the radio announcer and the fact that the audio has been normalized and the songs run together without crowd noise between songs).  This includes several DAT recordings dated September 20, some of which are also incorrectly attributed to the "Fillmore."

Putting aside the BBC recording, the three other recordings are all incomplete but are easily distinguished.  The first is usually marked "SBD" and is clear but somewhat thin sounding.  Unfortunately, that recording typically ends with Amazing Grace / You Don't Love Me reprise, and omits the last five songs, or a full hour of music. It also has a significant DC offset.

Second is also the recording that provides the source for SHNID 97787, which more almost complete but which must have several analog generations behind it.  Although it is fairly clean, the audio is weaker than the "SBD" and it has and audible speed difference and different cuts than the other two recorders.

Lastly, there is a version from reels made by Mike Leeman, which is nearly complete except for a few minutes of Stormy Monday and the very beginning of Ramblin' Man, and about 7 minutes towards the end of Les Brers.  This recording contains several minutes of KSAN DJs before the show and during the break and afterwards.  It is a fuller recording than the others, but sounds less clean, probably because the recording level was a little too high.

This file set contains the third source, Mike Leeman's reels, patched with the "SBD" source for Stormy Monday and SHNID 97787 for Les Brers.  This is the complete performance, including Bill Graham's intro and all of the tuning and stage banter, plus the KSAN DJ chatter before, during and after the show.  This is, as far as I can tell, the first time the complete performance has been circulated digitally.  The transitions in Les Brers are imperfect because of the different underlying recording speeds, but it's not clear which if either is correct so I let it be.

Enjoy!
