Recorded from KBOO FM, which is a local all volunteer community radio station. The station doesn't have a lot of power to broadcast and I feel lucky to be in the area which it reaches. Consequently there are some drops, reception and other various problems like cutting in for interviews and such. Mostly all are a good listen. I have tried to "cleanup" some of the drops in sound and cuts. There is nothing I can do to the reception problems. Most only last a few seconds.
Enjoy, twofthrs
I have no idea about this set list or if I split the tracks in the right way. Please help if you can.
Power trios come in many flavors, but none has the deep musical lineage of Porter-Batiste-Stoltz. George Porter held down the bottom end for many of New Orleansí hottest acts, including Allen Toussaint, Earl King, Lee Dorsey and Johnny Adams and the mighty Meters. Russell Batiste, Jr., son of famed Crescent City drummer David Batiste, has worked with the Charmaine Neville Band, joined Art Neville and George Porter Jr. of the Meters and guitarist Brian Stoltz to form the Funky Meters, and has done stints with Harry Connick, Jr., Champion Jack Dupree, Robbie Robertson, Maceo Parker, and a host of local and regional bands too numerous to mention.
Guitarist Brian Stoltz, a New Orleans bandleader in his own right, cut his teeth with the Neville Brothers and various other incarnations of some of the Crescent Cityís most notorious funksters, as well as recording or touring with Dr. John, Bob Dylan, Edie Brickell, Paul Simon, Linda Ronsdadt and many others. This is truly an all-star band a monstrous-groove proportions.
