I am just a little bummed about this recording. Firstly after set one I hit stop on my deck and locked the session as I always do.
I moved to the session I had set up for set two and got a new (to me) error message. When I went back to the session for set one
it was claiming to be corrupted. Luckily I had another drive with enough room to get set two down. I am still working on recovering
set one with much less optimism than I had that night. I am pretty sure the data is on the drive. Getting it off has proven to be difficult.
This is a proprietary recording format and needs to be converted to typical audio formats. Still working on that as of 3/11/08.
I will mix and seed set one if I can manage to recover it, or some of it. The other matrix and board feeds that were taken came from
matrix outputs C+D which at some point in the night started shorting out intermittently. I am not sure how that console feed varies
but I know what I got to tape from A+B is almost all vocals. The majority of the sound on this recording is from the onstage mics.
The sound is definitely really good. I am my own worst critic and am only somewhat happy with it. I say this because the show was pretty damn awesome.
It was a pleasure to record and to have the privilege to have my mics 10 feet from bills drumkit. Let's do it again sometime!
