Notes by Jon Tyler (NevilleTracks): This was Russell’s first show with the group in New Orleans (although he had already played a couple shows with them in California.) Throughout the show, Art jokingly introduces him as the "Late Great Russell Batiste On Drums"

There was a huge gap at the start of "Hey Pocky Way."  I deleted about 15 seconds of performance in order to find a decent place to make a splice.  At the end of "Hey Pocky Way," (Leo?) announced that there would be another set later.  (This is followed by some tuning.)  I omitted the announcement about the second set and the tuning noise.

At 5:27 into "Be My Lady," I joined tape 1 and tape 2.  There was a drop out during "Funkify Your Life"; I deleted a few seconds of music so I could find two places that could be spliced easily.

Funk It Blog's notes: I labeled these files as The Funky Meters even though they didn't really start using that name officially until Leo left the group in 1994/1995. For continuity's sake, I label any shows with Russell Batiste (starting in 1989) as The Funky Meters.
