7/28/82 Red Rocks - News Broadcast & Footage:
This WNEW ch5 (now WNYW) news segment features John David
Klein's report from the Jack Kerouac conference in Boulder,
CO. The footage includes Ken Kesey's comments about Kerouac
as well as an interview with Weir and Garcia from the backstage
area of Red Rocks during their 7/28/82 performance. The
segment then transitions to coverage of the Grateful Dead
performance and the Deadheads who are "On The Road."
After the news segment, the "B-Roll" footage from the WNEW
cameraman is included and features portions of Truckin' and
Not Fade Away. It is obvious that the cameraman was not there
to film the performance but was there to get as many "establishing"
shots as possible for the news piece. Audio for the performance
segment is the FOB Sennheiser 421 recording.

It is suspected (but not confirmed) that a news outlet was allowed to plug in to the
professional video line feed for the first few songs of this show. This suspicion is
backed up by the fact that each song is missing a minute or two in the middle. Missing
footage filled in with motion slideshow. Audio replaced by the Healy Mix MSC audio.
