Notes:
I'll Take A Melody is AUD-only. The matrix begins at 10:10.
During Someday Baby, Jerry's guitar starts to have a slight watery, phasey sound in the AUD and SBD recordings during his solo, from 8:10 to 9:34. The problem resolves after this section. There's a few brief "phasey" or "loose" sounding moments in Harder They Come as well in the SBD, like at 5:40 and 8:21. After the last verse, around 16:00, there's a bit of a watery sound for a while in the SBD.
The SBD source was trimmed between songs for better flow or to match the AUD cuts. The AUD was trimmed a bit too in a few places.
One loud click sound was dampened in the SBD during Someday Baby, and one softer click was removed during Little Sunflower; five others were removed (2) or dampened (3) that were between songs. There's a weird click anomaly that remains in Tore Up Over You.
The AUD patches 27 seconds during Boogie On Reggae Woman and 15 seconds during My Problems Got Problems in the SBD. There's a 5-second cut in the AUD during Every Word You Say.
Martin Fierro's sax was a little loud during a 40-second section near the beginning of My Problems Got Problems. The left channel of the SBD was reduced some to compensate for this brief issue.
There are two abrupt sound anomalies in the SBD near the end of Harder The Come (possibly patches). SBD and AUD levels were adjusted a bit to make things sound smoother here.
With such a full-bodied Betty Board in an intimate space, Reinhart Hohlwein's fine audience recording still brings an appreciable feeling of warmth, spatial resonance, and "presence" to the matrix. Some sections of his tape had a more muffled sound (That's Alright Mama through Little Sunflower), but it still had a nice effect in the mix.
The cover photo for this matrix originally had Herbie Mann on the marquee.
