Jonas reports that his D8 source differs from the circulating SBD>Zefiro>D8 source: "Actually, whenever I've taped Keller, and I haven't in a long time, I've come directly out of his soundboard. Some shows were in the "old" Lou days, and I'd get an XLR patch out of the board straight to D8. Some were during the "non-Lou" days when Keller ran his own sound from the stage. In those instances, it was split L/R 1/4 inch plugs from keller's onstage "jam man" board straight to the D8 (and I was usually the only one taping...). When Lou came back, I either plugged directly into his DA-P1 or into his digital patch bay - with an Oade cable, either way. I've never had the funds to use mics, preamps, conditioners, bitmappers, A/D converters and the like - always straight to the inferior internal D8 converter, and it was often a direct analog feed from the SBD. Until Lou started giving out the digital patches, the feeds were always (as far as I can
remember) analog SBDs - maybe with Lou's DAT passing on a digital feed now and again. When I was taping Keller, there weren't usually many other tapers, and certainly no one with incredible equipment." - Jonas Beals
