Cassette seed, transfer, notes, etc. by Adam O.
Some rather flat analog sbd recordings of this gig previously circulated in cassette form (all missing the set II opener of Golgi). This audience recording is much better than the previously circulating boards, IMHO. A nice full sound with plenty of the ambience of this small room and the feel of attending a classic Spring '91 Phish show. Vocals slightly distant but Trey's tone fills the room.
There was one set of audience mics at this gig, set up immediately to the left of the soundboard. The back wall of the room lies mere feet behind where the soundboard was located, maybe 20-30' from the stage. At some point in time, there were two sets of audience masters made of this show. 2 decks were patched in - the taper's D5 and Alex Paraskos's Nakamichi BX-150 (the source here). The 1st Generation copy transferred here was made immediately after the show directly from the BX-150 to my Nak BX-300.

if you put the first 2 tracks from d2 on the end of d1, you can move the encores to the end of d2 and keep this in perfect order :)

the mic does not pick up on the vocals well.

The Page Commons Room is much wider than it is deep. As noted in the text file, the back wall of the room is not much more than 30' (and perhaps less) from the front of the stage. So the mics were probably picking up much more sound from the stage amps and monitors rather than the PA. This explains why the vocals are not as distinct in the mix.

This source was patched into Zeke Vaughn's mic rig (presumably the same Nak 100's w/shotguns he used on 5/9). So, updated source info is: Nak 100's w/shotguns > Nakamichi BX-150.
