This show is great... but I listened to it and thought I'd sensed an mp3 generation. I then proceeded to look at the wav files in a wav editor and the wavs were cut at about 20kHz (mp3 frequency cutoff). I would hold off on downloading this and wait for a lossless source.

either mp3 or _multiple_ analog generations - i have some mp3s and they all have the 'alien audience' sound - where the subtle background noise loses all definition and is kind of a wash. i don't hear that on these, though i agree there has to be a better source... this is one SPOOKY show - here's hopin' the Oade source is comin' soon...

I'd long been suspicious that the SBD source presently circulating contains an mp3 generation. Whatever the reason, it is a very thin and unsatisfying board. Fortunately, the Oade source is due to be posted in a.b.gd.hs later this month. Here's hoping (and knowing!) that it will be a treat. For the Usenet-challenged, I plan to host this one on Furthur for a while.

The Oade is going up in the next few days to abgd thanks to our good friend Darrin. As with other Oade's it's awesome.
I had a proper burial for my own master aud of this show which doesn't even come close to Doug's. Duhhh like I could ever expect it would.

Yes, I think the SBD at one time was on GDlive. It was listed as an mp3.

I got a different soundboard of this show off FurthurNet a while back and the text file makes reference to this "inferior" MP3-generation source. Guy said he had just recently dug up his DAT of the show and despite some flaws, "the sound here" (meaning his source) "is not a problem." Sounded great to me. I will submit the MD5s and txt for addition here. Never done it before, so I hope I don't screw up.
