from a friend of Rick's who sent him a copy of the master cassette -
clean recording, could be from stage mics but some audience noise
between songs.  The friend was also pretty quick with pause buttons so
some not so smooth transititions. Robert Hunter on guitar, harmonica
and vocals.

I'd bet a dollar to a doughnut that this is the same exact material as the officially-released "A Box of Rain" CD from Rykodisc. Same material, in a different order. Similar track times. So now we have two sources (the 12/8/90 source has the same text file but different md5s) that are basically the same as an official release, with a different running order. Sheesh!
