Sean on behalf of the trading comunity a big THANKS!!! for all your hard work!!!!
Date: 03/15/2005
Prior comments to the effect that the patches are not good, or that they are good, have been deleted for lack of kindness. Anyone who can express an opinion politely is encouraged to do that.

I'm coming in late after all the comments have been deleted- I hope the baby hasn't been thrown out with the bathwater. I think analysis of new sources only serves this site, pro and con.

Thanks Sean for your tireless efforts and excellent work.

First off thanks for all your efforts in getting this show out to the masses.

My question is ...ultimately is this seed better than the others ..? What are the differences..?

I think this is a great show and healthy discussion re: the show hopefully isn't taken as personal criticism.

Peace

To my knowledge, the lineage of the version on the LMA (shnid=280) is merely an unconfirmed guess. This seed originally came from Rob Bertrando (ages ago) and for whatever reason never made it to etree until now. You'll also notice that the track timings of the LMA version are shorter across the board, causing me to believe that it is somewhat off pitch. This seed also has aud patches. While I think they work pretty well, there seems to be some kind of uprising against aud patches (and my work in general) lately, so download at your own risk.

I just tested the patch in Sugar Mag and it sounds good to me. Thanks Sean!

If there's an uprising against aud patches, I'm sure it's just a vocal minority. I know I believe that even if the patch source really sucks, patched is better than cut & missing. It's easy enough to use Soundforge or even CD Wave / AddAWav to remove the patch if you really don't like it, but it's a lot harder to add it if it's not there to start with. Thanks for all your efforts, Sean.

hoot --- how does one get appointed to speak on behalf of the trading community? Just curious. Also, I think the patch job on this is just fine.

I just listened to this. I doubt if anyone will be disappointed with the quality. Keep 'em coming.

I love audience patches, both the idea of them and the great executions, that my critique of 10/29's upgrade is the same I had for 11/17/72's: the bulk of the show is not taken from the soundboard I would have chosen. It's just not as clear and loud as a 10/29 that's out there.
Date: 03/20/2005
Which one of the two others are you referring to?
Date: 03/20/2005
"Liberated Bootleg," I think it's called? I might have gotten it off Further a long time ago. Took another listen and it's really a full, clear, and loud sound. Here's what I saved of the text file:

That would be shnid=14715, ja?
Follow the link to that source and there is only one comment, questioning the quality...

the space after eyes is the best part of all of 77!
Date: 03/21/2005
Well, I've said my piece and, thanks to Sean and EAC, made my own version. May everyone enjoy their 10/29/77 in whatever form suits them best!
Date: 03/22/2005
In that case, I encourage you to share with the community what you have put together.

It sounds like the pitch of the patch source does not match the pitch of the sbd source which is what some of the problem may be with the patch.
