Notes: This is liberated bootleg of a very nice SBD recording.
This was the second-to-last show I saw, and a great one at that.
The Bird Song near the end of the first set is amazing, and the Monks
chanting between drums and space made for a very unusual experience.
Also a very emotional Standing on the Moon. Overall, this was an excellent
show, and the whole thing fits on two 74min CDs.

Listening to this show is depressing. Jerry can't keep it together on anything. The Bird Song is unusual - very dark and angry jam - but I wouldn't say it's good. If you want to hear some good GD, you need to go back at least 5 years (some would say 20).

Pay no attention to the above post. No offense to V.o.R. but either you had a limited perspective of the Grateful Dead at that time or you sre just plain clueless. "Dark and Angry" Birdsong? I get deep and comprehensive references to '69 Darkstars. 2000 was seven years ago, and few of us had access to almost the entire catalogue at that time. After critically listening to a good sampling of every era, I conclude that the entire work is one cohesive piece. This show is an exceptional example of late Grateful Dead. How could any show with Good Morning Little School Girl be depressing in any sense? Not to mention Speedway>That Would Be Something. The band was happy. The crowd was happy. It was Shoreline. The Guyoto Monks chanted. This recording is very good except D2T05 seems to come from a different source. Hot levels and tape hiss on that track only attest to that. This was a rare performance, and puts the earlier years in context. Get it.
