Notes from Bob Clevenger:
I downloaded this show from Leigh Orf (thanks for a great show!)
and did a bit of editing. The "pops" or "clicks" are now gone.
I also decided to separate the extended tuning bits and station ID's into
their own tracks so that the user could decide whether or not to keep them in.
These are the tracks with an "a" suffix. Include them if you want the "whole enchilada"
but the show sounds better (to me) without them. The  tracks flow smoothly
from one to the next either way. The editing was done with DART Pro 98.

If you choose to omit the "a" tracks, this show will fit on two discs.
The first set requires a 90 min. disc; the second set fits on an 80 min. disc
(it actually fits on most 74 min. discs). Each set fits on one disc this way.

This is a fantastic sounding recording. I don't have the lineage, if
someone does, let me know and I'll put it in the info file.

All I did was rename the files (7/2 not 2/7) and remove an errant file
that didn't belong. See the below warning about track lengths.

Warning: track lengths are bad for the following tracks on 7/2/71, where
the word "pad" appears. A dropout or click is heard at the end of these
tracks.

D1:

Track 01: audio  87 MB (08:40.93) no preemp pad
Track 02: audio  72 MB (07:08.61) no preemp
Track 03: audio  57 MB (05:39.30) no preemp
Track 04: audio  59 MB (05:53.09) no preemp
Track 05: audio  75 MB (07:26.61) no preemp
Track 06: audio  50 MB (04:59.00) no preemp
Track 07: audio 102 MB (10:10.26) no preemp
Track 08: audio  43 MB (04:17.89) no preemp pad
Track 09: audio  35 MB (03:32.51) no preemp pad
Track 10: audio  39 MB (03:55.93) no preemp pad

D2:

Track 01: audio  97 MB (09:41.36) no preemp pad
Track 02: audio  69 MB (06:55.36) no preemp
Track 03: audio  40 MB (03:59.77) no preemp
Track 04: audio 179 MB (17:45.50) no preemp
Track 05: audio  72 MB (07:08.17) no preemp
Track 06: audio 114 MB (11:21.25) no preemp pad
Track 07: audio  32 MB (03:10.61) no preemp pad

D3:

Track 01: audio  25 MB (02:34.30) no preemp pad
Track 02: audio  45 MB (04:33.29) no preemp
Track 03: audio 175 MB (17:26.04) no preemp
Track 04: audio  56 MB (05:36.30) no preemp
Track 05: audio  75 MB (07:27.72) no preemp
Track 06: audio  33 MB (03:21.88) no preemp
Track 07: audio  90 MB (08:58.42) no preemp
Track 08: audio  37 MB (03:43.33) no preemp
Track 09: audio  45 MB (04:27.88) no preemp pad

The worst click/dropout is D3 T1 because it falls on a segue into drums.
The rest are annoying but are over crowd noise etc.

If someone wants to clean this up feel free, I don't have time! If you
do, let me know and I'll grab the fixed files from you to serve.

Also it sounds like maybe some form of NR was applied [if someone knows
let me know please], although I'm not sure... there is this wateriness
in the crowd noise, but it could be the mix. There is a bit of echo in
this recording too. But don't get me wrong this show sounds great.

A 90 minute disc? Ooooh where can I get one of those?

90 and 99 minute discs are already on the market.

However they have serious compatibility issues (both in playback and writing) and therefore are not practical, especially without an established Orange Book standard from Phillips and Sony.
