This is a FOB source with lots of crowd noise. Instant Karma and the song after conatin almost ubearable balloon pops. I would look for a better source, however i have not heard the Nueman source as of yet.

I agree with Dave about the crowd noice. In general I do not care for this seed.

The TLM 170r source, in my opinion, is superior.

The seed sounds better overall than the TLM170 tape. This was FOB, and naturally has a more upfront, full sound about it, with much better high-end. The TLM170 has nice bass, though. I don't think the crowd noise is all that bad. The baloon pops are definitely there, but I didn't compare that track to the TLM170 version, so I can't say how the baloons are on that tape vs. this one.

I strongly suggest getting both of these seeds and listening to them both before you decide which to burn. It took me a while to decide which I liked better, and it's clear that some people like the fob and some don't. Listen to both, and choose for yourself.

I just got the Nueman source and IMO it sounds far better than the FOB schoeps soucre. There is a level adjustment at
Disc 1, Track 1: @ 1:18. Other than that the quality is good. The balloon pops are not nearly as loud and prominent when compared to the FOB schoeps source.
Date: 01/23/2002
The Schoeps source is definitely a full rich FOB sound; if you can't handle the baloon pops, pick up the Neumann's for a jet smoothe ride.

The balloon pops are unbearable!
Go with the Neumann source for sure!!
