My first Dead show! This was Chinese New Year 1986. The S.F. Chinese Symphony Orchestra opened. We were expecting Jerry and the Boys to come out when 30 or so Chinese folks wearing tuxedos and formal dresses took the stage. We all looked at each other with a "what the heck" look but they started to play with these really funky rythyms and before you knew it everyone was dancing. I always wondered what they must have thought about it. I'm sure there aren't too many spinners in their typical audience:)

I'd been searching for a sbd of this for years before finally finding it here. Awesome sound and a great setlist. Defnitely worth the download and a couple of cds.
