Some static in spots, which are most likely on the
master reel. It sounds like some sort of feed
problem. Present on several tracks in set 1. Once
you get past the first few minutes of playin',
its gone for good.
reel-change splices noted at 6:45 in Half Step, and at
7:50 in Wharf. All other flips fall harmlessly between
songs.

This is without a doubt the worst soundboard I ever heard. It's shit. October '73 and it's shit. For shame.

Unfortunately, much of 10/73 is of poor quality. Ain't nothing for it. Enjoy what exists.

There were only 7 shows in 1973. Of these, 10/19 and 10/25--and one could argue the same for 10/29 and 10/30--are great recordings (of great shows).

The above should read "There were only 7 shows in October 1973."

I don't agree, Mark. I think 10/23 (the Gans "one-disc wonder",) 10/25, 10/27, 10/29 and 10/30 all range from good to great quality.

Historically, this show and the 25th circulated on cassette as very muffled, hissy, incomplete, and cut up SBDs. The rest of 10/73 was hard to find and incomplete, and pretty poor. Evidently, some of those sources still circulate, but I stand corrected, much of 10/73 now circulates with good or excellent quality.

BIODTL is worth the price of admission. BTW, this isn't a bad board at all.
